Jim is expert in all channels of communication in corporate restructurings and crisis management, particularly in public financial institutions. With more than 30 years of executive level experience in investor relations, corporate communications, corporate governance, crisis management and management communications, his career has included senior officer or consulting roles in the restructuring of such firms as: Beneficial Standard Corporation; California Federal Bank (executive and board of directors); MFN Financial Corporation; Hawthorne Financial Corporation; and Aozora Bank (Tokyo). His ongoing consulting relationships with financial institutions include: Meta Financial Group and MetaBank; and KeyCorp and Key Bank. Jim’s significant assignments in other industries have been in the energy, health care, technology, television, adhesives, motion picture and zoological arenas.
He is a past national director and regional president of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and a member of its Senior Roundtable. He was a member of the groundbreaking Joint Task Force on Corporate Issuers and Analyst Relations formed by NIRI and the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute. He was a contributing writer for Standards of Practice for Investor Relations and numerous editions of Himstreet and Baty’s widely used university textbook, Business Communication.
